Pics: 1) At the Carlsbad Cavern Visitor Center; 2) one of the early wire ladders Jim White built and used to climb down into the caverns (this one reaches down another 90 feet into a lower cave; the ladder is still there for historical purposes only); 3) the only active stalagmite in the Caverns today.

Saw 1 lizard, 1 jack rabbit, lots of turkey buzzards, 1 dead rattlesnake, 1 dead ringtail cat
We went back to the Caverns and spent most of the day in the big room photographing. Our technicue improved and our pictures today were 100% better (using a tripod and longer exposures rather than the flash). I walked about 3 miles and Roxanne walked about 2 miles in the cave during the day. We visited a Indian rock shelter and water spring on the road that leads to the Carlsbad Cavern Visitor Center.
We spent the night at the Carlsbad RV Park again.
