5-4-07-Friday-64212-191-I-10 Rest stop at mile 84 in Arizona-Partly sunny-low +67-high +91
We went to Gilbert, AZ, to a company called Airguns of Arizona and I traded my Beeman Crow Magnum towards a Daystate Air Ranger, a very nice air rifle. Our salesman, Steve, put a scope on so it could be checked for accuracy before we left (the rifles sometimes need a little tweaking for best shooting results and they can do everything right there at the shop). I'm also ordering an air tank so we can fill the airgun at home (it will be shipped out later when they get their stock in). We also went to the new Cabela’s in Phoenix for a few items and to view the store.
Later in the afternoon we met with Kirk Haderley who sells air gun moderators and I bought one from him. We shot the new Daystate airgun with a scope Kirk had and the moderator that fit the best and the gun was extremely accurate. Too bad we didn't bring the scope for the airgun from home with us. Kirk has both an air tank for refilling his guns and a air-breathing compressor like the dive shops use. This is the only type of compressor that can fill the air gun tanks and have enough pressure for the maximum/ultimate filling capacity for the guns to work the best and for the greatest number of shots the guns are built for.
We are staying the night at a RV park in Mesa, AZ called Green Acres. Most of the units here are full-time tenants and the park is relatively small and somewhat older. They have a nice pool/spa area, laundry, restroom/shower area and some workout equipment and the gentleman running the place has been in Arizona for 40+ years - he still loves the hot weather and can't imagine living anywhere else. Roxanne lived in Mesa before she and her family moved to Alaska in 1963, but there are so many changes that nothing but the names of the cities and streets are familiar anymore.
